I love pictures of pathways. The images in this post are all from my 2022 Pathways calendar. I always wonder, "Hmm...what lies beyond the bend?" I'm also reminded that God has a path He wants us to travel, one that is best for us, and for best results in life, we should "walk ye in it."
The words written by Brother Lawrence (whoever he is!) reminds me of the verse in Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."
This photo reminds me of the Outer Banks, which always has pleasant vibes for me. What does it remind you of?
"You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore," Psalm 16:11.
This picture draws me in and makes me want to wander around the walled-in garden and then walk through the old wooden door and explore what lies beyond. I imagine there are more lovely gardens beyond the curve in the path ahead.
"Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established," Proverbs 4:26.
This looks like a rugged path to follow, high on a hill, but what a view! Imagine standing at the end of the path we see, at the peak of the hillside - with the wind in your hair and amazing scenery spread out around you -- you'd feel like the king (or queen) of the world!
"Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls," Jeremiah 6:16.
Climbing stairs is not exactly my favorite thing to do, but the beauty along these steps would certainly make the effort worth it.
"Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths..." Psalm 25:4, followed by, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths," Proverbs 3:5-6.
